Harriet Tubman's Journey
She was a spy, she never lost a passenger. You may know her as the slave who escaped and led other slaves through the underground tunnels, or as the key to the many slaves that were saved, well her name is Harriet Tubman. She was born a slave and escaped and started her way on a journey that would make her a very important unsung hero today. Harriet Tubman was born around the estimate of 1820 or 1822 and died in 1913 on March, 10. She was born a slave in Dorchester County, Maryland. Harriet in fact did have siblings, 8 and her being the 9th. She escaped slavery in 1849 because of an injury and her owner had passed away. Once she had realized that she was now free and didn't get caught, she started her journey to find and rescue her 8 siblings in Philadelphia.
