World hunger

 

Children and families are going hungry everyday, for many different reasons. In fact, more than 16 million children go hungry every year, just in the US. We need to do something about goal number 2 now, because nobody deserves to be starved. 


Many families and children are going hungry each day due to the lack of food in their area they live in. Many times it is hard to grow crops in certain areas of land because of the conditions or climate. Some places are too dry to grow crops, so when crops do grow they sell for a lot, so their economy makes money. Crops can range up to, $0.64-$2.67 per pound. Because of this, many families can not afford to buy the food to feed their families.


Another main problem with world hunger is having to buy school lunch. This is a huge problem because many people can't afford to pay for school lunch every day. Many schools have stopped the need to pay for lunches, but some remain to keep children paying. For many children, this is one of the only times they can eat during the day, because they can't afford meals. Also many children eat other meals a day, but never eat lunch, because they can't afford it. A school lunch can cost up to $3.81 each day. That is a lot of money for one week, and many families can't afford it. The schools that are still making children pay for lunches, need to switch to it being free, because each child deserves to eat lunch. 


World hunger is a huge problem, and it needs to stop. As you can see, there are many reasons world hunger needs to come to an end. There are even more reasons world hunger is happening. We all need to work together, to make sure each child and family gets to eat during the day.

Harriet Tubman's Journey

       She was a spy, she never lost a passenger. You may know her as the slave who escaped and led other slaves through the underground tunnels, or as the key to the many slaves that were saved, well her name is Harriet Tubman. She was born a slave and escaped and started her way on a journey that would make her a very important unsung hero today.  Harriet Tubman was born around the estimate of 1820 or 1822 and died in 1913 on March, 10. She was born a slave in Dorchester County, Maryland. Harriet in fact did have siblings, 8 and her being the 9th. She escaped slavery in 1849 because of an injury and her owner had passed away. Once she had realized that she was now free and didn't get caught, she started her journey to find and rescue her 8 siblings in Philadelphia.   There are many pros and cons of homework. It also runs by opinion. You may like homework, or you may not. It may be stressful for you or it may be easy for you. But the pros and cons are opinions, and facts.       One pro of homework is it helps kids get a better study habit for later life. This is a pro because when you have a study habit, it will help you when you get to high school, college, or your job.
